Dance Limerick Studio - Dance Limerick Studio, 1-2 John's Square
This year, audiences have the chance to see three works in progress from dance artists currently creating in Ireland. The three short pieces will be followed by a discussion with the artists and light lunch.
Cosmophobia by Alessandra Azeviche (15 min)
This work-in-progress is an attempt to challenge the institutional ignorance sustaining both ecological ruin and our existential dread of the cosmos. Asking "is fear a primal instinct or a symptom of modern alienation?", the piece draws on Mestre Nêgo Bispo's revolutionary theories to interrogate how losing our ancestral and ecological connections fuels collective anxiety by bridging counter-colonial thought and environmental psychology.

Left-Handed Snake Drawing by Justine Cooper (15 min)
As part of a Dance Bursary research Justine Cooper in collaboration with dance artist Rebecca Reilly and filmmaker Neil O'Driscoll, engage in an experiment that circles around themes of dada, death cycles in the female body, metamorphosis and absurdity.
The work exists in a state of becoming—unfinished, unruly, and unresolved. This studio performance invites witnesses to understand something through being seen. The work seeks to be unsettled, questioned, and gently steered toward whatever form it is asking to take next.

SPACE CADET by Grace Cuny (15 min)
Short description: How do we emerge from periods of mental and physical stagnation? Can we push ourselves to the point of unlocking our potential without burning up? In the final section of SPACE CADET, Grace Cuny tackles these questions through a marathon of repetition.
