Dance Limerick Performance Space - Dance Limerick Performance Space (St. John's church), John's Square, Limerick

This work-in-progress reimagines mythological, religious, and archetypal figures through semi-fictional vignettes, blending fabric, movement, voice, and live music. The figures are born, undone, and remade, symbolizing the evolving nature of identity and self-expression. The piece questions traditional symbols of divine perfection by exploring bodies shaped by violence, transformation, and resilience, highlighting the struggle of crafting one’s identity in a world where everything is watched and scrutinized.

It explores the tension between spontaneity and constant observation, challenging audiences to consider the elasticity required to hold and honour the complexity of the human experience. The work also looks at Vostokova’s family history of sewing, the relationship between clothing and self-expression, and how little control we often have over the construction of our identities.
