Artist Interview
Alex Reuben has a background as a DJ and in art and design. He makes movies characterised by improvisation, dance and music, exhibited by Picturehouse, Curzon and BFI Cinemas. Reuben’s ‘Routes’ was selected in the ‘Top 20 Movies of the Decade’ (Geoff Andrew). Commissions include Sadler’s Wells, Channel 4 and the BBC with awards from ACE, Jerwood and Dance Digital. His movies explore the connections between art, science and politics in the choreography of the environment.
